WE ARRIVE IN ZIHUATANEJO, MEXICO
#47
Oh my God we are here we are here. Living in a villa with private pool, kitchen, enormous balconies, and our friend Josie.
One week before Christmas we walked into Ricks Bar in Zihuatanejo and surprised our friend Josie Kuhn, Rick’s main musical attraction. She was so surprised she cried. She set us up in the villa she was staying at, Rick´s place, with a pool, maid service, a full communal kitchen and living room. It was paradise.
We hang out a Ricks bar where all the international boating community frequents. Rick broadcasts every day a short wave radio show targeting incoming yachts and sail boats.
Believe it or not, within two weeks, Joe and I hooked up with a skipper needing a crew and now we are living onboard a 32-foot sailboat cutter trimmed, in all teak wood and rattan furnishings. Our captain is Rick Meyerhoff out of Sausalito, CA. We will be sailing with him up the Baja Coast on the Sea of Cortez. Needless to say we have really cut expenses now and look forward to about a six-week sail if we can keep from being seasick. Hasn´t happened yet but then again we aren´t even out of the harbor.
I have less opportunities to email, plus one of my mailing lists is screwed up, nevertheless, I will continue to write but with each day I am getting further and further behind. I am keeping everything in a notebook and will eventually have everything posted online. I have begun my fantasy novel plus I began writing about some of our Mexican tours in third person, just as an experiment. We´ll see if I can keep all that going.
Hope everyone had a great holiday, I certainly did.
More later Pamela
